Iittala Glass Factory

The story of Iittala began in 1881, when the glass factory was first founded in the village. Today, the factory, which nowadays operates as part of the Fiskars Group, is the only one of its kind in Finland and continues the long tradition of Finnish glass manufacturing. Even today, the skilled glass blowers at the factory make, among other things, Finland’s most internationally famous glass object, Alvar Aalto’s Aalto vase.
